No more leaving the club hungry or doing other extra curricular and getting the extreme case of the munchies! Lyft and Taco Bell are changing the game!
The service is in a trial mode right now and is only offered in one county in the entire nation. Starting this Thursday thru Saturday, and August 3-5, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 2 a.m. the two companies are testing something called “Taco Mode.” Customers of the ride-hailing app will have the option to stop at Taco Bell on their way to their destination. The app will also allow you to pay for your Cheesy Gordita Crunch, Fiery Cheese Doritos Locos Taco Supreme, 7-Layer Burrito, Chipotle Chicken Griller, Crunchwrap Supreme, and Mountain Dew Spiked Lemonade through the app. However, this is just a test and is only available in Orange County, California.
Damn! Hurry up already!
“We enjoy bringing new experiences to life for our passengers, and Taco Mode allows them to extend the night in a way that hasn’t been done before,” said Lyft’s head of marketing Melissa Waters in a statement. “We’re combining two of our passengers’ favorite activities—a night out with friends and enjoying Taco Bell—which means there is even more of the night to love.”
“We realized that for every person who has asked their Lyft driver to make a pit stop at Taco Bell — and we’ve seen many — there are likely those who weren’t sure if this was possible,” said Marisa Thalberg, Taco Bell’s CMO, in a statement. “With the advent of this fantastic partnership with Lyft, we will erase any lingering uncertainty and celebrate the ability to ‘ride-thru’ in Taco Mode.”
