“Will date for food.” That should be headline for the online dating profile of many women, apparently. On TikTok, McCall Brock says that during college she “once ran out of money for food,” so she got onto a dating app and racked up 16 dinner dates over 16 days” following that revelation up with, “Girl’s gotta eat!” She also clarifies that the guys all asked her out, so it was totally their choice to treat her…even though they probably had no idea that it was just all about the grub for her.
Some responses to her post called it “genius” and other women chimed in with:
- “She was a businesswoman doing business.”
- ‘”Legit. Did this for two weeks once when all my money was stolen after payday. Doggy bags were my friend.”
- “I did this for six months in my mid-20s…making sure I would reach into my purse to make it seem like I was going to pull out my wallet.”
On the other side, the dissenters:
- “I never did this. I feel like it’s using them, especially if there are feelings involved.”
- “I sure do love using people. Quality pastime.”
- “It’s OK for you to waste their time?”
- “Get a job at a restaurant, work every day, then you get money and free food. Trust me. It works!”
Do with this, what you will.
