Y2K and early 2000’s fashion trends like velour tracksuits, low-rise jeans, and even trucker hats are currently having their moment in fashion again. But fashionistas on TikTok are predicting that it’s almost time for the 2010s to shine.
Yes, the 2010’s were just a decade ago so chances are you probably still have some of some of these soon-to-be trending pieces in your closet:
- Asymmetric skirts
- tripped shirts
- feathered extensions (think Ke$ha)
- denim vests
- fringed tops and scarves
- hair bows
- peplum silhouettes
Here’s TikToker Hali Brown-Onigbanjo of Nextwearer’s take: “The 2010s were a really fun and democratizing era of fashion, with the rise of fashion bloggers and it-girl Tumblr users who helped to shape a range of ‘aesthetics.’ I can totally understand why people who were too young to experience it the first time round are trying to experience that energy now.”
