There Will Be Plenty Of Real Christmas Trees For The Holiday Season

While fall may have just started, there are plenty of people already thinking about the holidays and they’ll be glad to know there shouldn’t be a problem getting Christmas trees this year.

While folks have been having a lot of problems finding some of their favorite items in stores, the Christmas Tree Promotion Board (yes that’s a thing), wants to assure folks that despite some issues during the year, there should be plenty of trees to go around.

Growers did face some difficulties during the growing season, including a heat wave in the Pacific Northwest, causing many trees to suffer burns, but growers say it realy only affected about 10% to 20% of their supply, mostly in the Northern Willamette Valley in Oregon and parts of Southwest Washington.

Farmers do note that consumers do need to be a bit flexible this year though.

  • Growers suggest this is a good year for people to try something new, since size and species variety may differ from years past. They expect “natural looking” trees, which are more open and layered to be more widely available.
  • It’s possible some retailers will have tight supplies, but folks can go to the website ItsChristmasKeepitReal to find a tree dealer near them if their location doesn’t have what they are looking for.
  • Those interested in artificial trees may want to go real this year since the artificial tree industry has said they’re dealing with supply chain issues, that will result in higher price tags an shipping delays.
