While plenty of people will be heading out on vacation this summer, not everyone can afford to go away. But just because you don’t have the cash to leave your city, it doesn’t mean you have to be stuck at home bored all summer.
Most people don’t even realize there’s plenty to do and see in their own city, and a staycation may be just the thing to help them enjoy their summer. Of course, some cities have way more to offer when it comes to staycations, and a new report reveals which ones are best.
- WalletHub just came out with their annual list of the Best and Worst Places for a Staycation.
- Thy looked at more than 180 cities based on 46 key indicators of a fun and cheap staycation.
- Those factors include swimming pools, golf courses and hiking trails per capita, as well as shopping centers, amusement parks, casinos and even share of residents who are vaccinated.
- With all that in mind, Honolulu, Hawaii tops the list as the best place for a staycation, with a score of 65.80 out of 100.
- Specifically, it comes in first for recreation, and five for rest and relaxation.
- Orlando, Florida, two overall, lands on top for food and entertainment, while Columbia, Maryland, is tops for rest and relaxation.
