A single lady who was ready to start dating again came up with an original way to meet single men. Philippa Wilson had taken a year off from dating to focus on personal growth and when she decided to look for love again, she wanted to “date in a conscious way” and not just fill a void. So when a friend suggested she put her Google Form skills to good use, she ran with the idea.
Wilson and her besties came up with a list of targeted questions and she created a custom “Bae Application.” They brainstormed questions that touched on her dealbreakers to help her weed out suitors who wouldn’t be a good fit, like smokers. The 28-year-old also asked what their social media handles are so she could see what they look like and if there was an attraction there. Then she posted the form to her Twitter account for single men to use to apply to date her and just one day later, she received 505 responses from interested bachelors.
Sorting through all the applications was a team effort, it took her two and a half weeks to narrow it down to 33 guys, then she reached out to them on social media and came up with 10 men she’d like to date. Wilson is still getting to know her finalists and says she’d recommend trading dating apps for a customized Google Form to other singles. “This is just a tool to help lay out your options in front of you, then take it from there,” she explains. “At the end of the day, dating is supposed to be fun so honestly, why not?”
