We've got a big three-day weekend coming up. And if it feels like it's taking forever to get here, a new study found that's common . . .
Researchers at Ohio State say our perception of time gets skewed when we have something fun on the horizon.
So with a vacation or long weekend, it can seem like the days and weeks leading up to it drag on and on.
They also found that when we're looking forward to something and the days DO seem to drag, then we tend to think time will fly by once all the fun starts. So it can end up feeling like your long weekend doesn't last very long.
Unfortunately, the opposite happens when we've got something bad coming up, like an annoying work thing next month. In that case, it can feel like it's right around the corner. And then when it does happen, it feels like it takes forever.
