Now that more and more people are eligible for the COVID vaccine, folks are starting to see the light at the end of the pandemic tunnel. But it turns out now some of them have a new thing to worry about – their appearance.
A new survey finds:
- Two-thirds of Americans are rushing to improve themselves for the post-pandemic world.
- 64% are striving to look their absolute best for when life gets back to “normal.”
- Another 68% want to be the best version of themselves, both mentally and physically.
- The top things folks want to improve on include:
- Paying more attention to their personal appearance (60%)
- Having better physical health (58%)
- Taking better care of their skin (56%)
- Taking better care of their hair (53%)
- Taking care of their mental and emotional health (48%)
And it seems plenty of folks have a lot to work to do.
- 51% of Americans say 2020 was the hardest year they’ve experienced.
- Likely because of that, 46% say they let themselves go.
- 60% of people say they’ve gained weight over the last year.
- The average amount of weight gained was 17 pounds.
- 51% of Americans say they fell back into bad habits over the past year, including:
- Eating unhealthy foods (53%)
- Excessive drinking (49%)
- Quit grooming themselves on a daily basis (43%)
- Started smoking again (38%)
