KANYE WEST WAS THE RICHEST BLACK MAN IN U.S. HISTORY FOR 24 HOURS

Following the announcement of his new partnerships with Adidas and Gap, several outlets were quick to crown Kanye West the richest Black man in American history. The clothing deals reportedly brought in somewhere between $3.2- to $4.7-billion for his Yeezy brand and would raise his net worth to $6.6-billion.

Here’s the problem –Forbes points out his net worth is closer to $1.8-billion and that these estimates are “based on the magical thinking around sales that don’t yet exist.” In other words...he's actually got to sell something first.

For the record, Vista Equity’sRobert F Smith is ACTUALLY worth $6-billion making him the richest Black person in the US. Mean while, Aliko Dangote of Nigeria’s net worth of $11.8-billion makes him the richest Black person in the world.

BRITNEY SPEARS CONSIDERING TELLING HER STORY

It’s been awhile since Britney Spears did any kind of interview but sources say following the reaction of the documentary “Framing Britney Spears” she has been considering sharing her story.

“Britney has considered speaking out about her past, mostly because she doesn't feel others should tell her story," a source tells “Entertainment Tonight.” "She's always hated doing interviews but if she ever takes that step, Oprah would most likely be her first choice.”

The insider adds, “At this point, there is no plan in the works for her to do an interview but when she does, there will be steps Britney would need to take before speaking out."

According to the source,  Britney has felt the “tremendous support from her fans,” which has caused to be “much happier lately.” “The release of the documentary has inspired an outpouring of more love than ever,” the insider shares. “While she hasn't been able to make changes to her conservatorship, she's received millions of messages from fans on social media and she feels far more understood."

OSCARS WILL BE IN PERSON, NO ZOOMING ALLOWED

The Oscars are a month away and the Academy is telling nominees that if they're not comfortable attending the ceremony in person . . . well, TOUGH LUCK. They will NOT be allowed to "Zoom" into the show.

The producers sent out an email that details their plan for a "carefree . . . intimate, in-person event at Union Station in Los Angeles."

They said, quote, "We're going to great lengths to provide a safe and enjoyable evening for all of you in person, as well as for all the millions of film fans around the world, and we feel the virtual thing will diminish those efforts."

They added, quote, "We're treating the event as an active movie set, with specially designed testing cadences to ensure up-to-the-minute results."

The Academy says that the ONLY people attending will be the nominees, their guests, and the presenters. And they made sure to point out that even though we are still in a pandemic, casual attire is NOT welcome.

They didn't say anything about masks, so that should be interesting.

FCC GOT 80 COMPLAINTS ABOUT "WAP" AT THE GRAMMYS

For all the hysteria it caused in the media, you would think that Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's performance of "WAP" at the"Grammys" inspired thousands of FCC complaints. But it turns out only 80 people cared enough to report it.

Which makes sense for a few reasons. First of all, hardly anyone WATCHED the"Grammys"this year. Secondly, the people who did were more likely to be okay with this kind of thing anyway.

The complaints they did get were pretty typical. Some people called it disgusting, others said it looked like something you'd see at a strip club.

At least one person complained that the media "has a problem with Dr. Seuss but allows Cardi B to sing about her [WAP] on national television."

It's interesting to note that there were 1,300 complaints about JENNIFER LOPEZ and SHAKIRA at the 2020 Super Bowl.

But that's not really a valid comparison. Only about 9.2 million people watched the"Grammys", compared to 102 million for the Super Bowl. Plus, the audience for the game is WAY more diverse, with people of all ages and political persuasions tuning in.
