President Joe Biden has signed an executive order aimed at taking a closer look at supply chain shortages in areas like “pharmaceuticals, rare earth minerals, large-capacity batteries and semiconductor chips. It’s that last item that’s been a major reason for supply shortages for the new Xbox and PlayStation systems, as well as graphics cards. This isn’t going to be an “immediate fix,” but it should be a viable way to stop it from happening again in the future, as one of the goals is to find ways of producing more of them domestically.
