When it comes to dishonesty, America is killing it. A new study from the folks at BestLifeOnline.com has determined the most dishonest states in America...and that’s a lot tougher than it sounds. Why? Not a single one out of 50 scored very high in integrity. According to their scale which compares data on fraud, identity theft, cybercrime, and state integrity policies, Nebraska is this nation’s most “honest” state. But once again, the bar is low given Nebraska only managed to get a D+ integrity grade.
But on the other end of the scale, it turns out the East coast missed the lesson about ‘honesty being the best policy.’ Or maybe there’s something in the Atlantic Ocean that makes people liars because almost every state in the top 10 most dishonest is touching it.Here is the list of the top five most dishonest states:
- Nevada.It might be known for Las Vegas but it should really be known for being big ol’ liars. Nevada took the top spot as America’s most dishonest state with an ‘F’ for an integrity grade and the highest concentration of fraud and cybercrime victims. They also hit the jackpot on the studies dishonesty index with a perfect score of 100%.
- Florida.You had to figure Florida was going to make it somewhere in the top-five because… well it’s Florida after all. The sunshine state managed to grab the number two spot thanks to their D- integrity grade and dishonesty score of 75. Which makes you wonder if all those crazy stories coming out of Florida are actually real, or if they’re making them up.Hard to tell really.
- Georgia.Turns out the peach state may be a little rotten. Georgia’s fraud, identity theft, and cybercrime levels were enough to earn them a D- integrity grade and secure their spot as the third most dishonest state in America.
- Delaware.They were the first of the 13 original states to ratify the constitution and apparently have been doing a lot of lying ever since. Delaware joined 11 other states in getting an ‘F’ grade for integrity and was found to be the fourth most dishonest state in America.
- Maryland.Rounding out the top five states you shouldn’t trust is Maryland who managed to get a ‘D’ in integrity and a 68% for dishonesty.Tough to believe the state bordering Washington, D.C. didn’t score higher though.
