Even though much of dating in today’s world happens through apps, there’s still plenty to be frustrated about when it comes to the process. Unless you’re ultra-hot or have a profile pic that oozes “wealth,” you’re likely going to lose the battle of the “swipes.” With that in mind, here comes a new app called Jigsaw.
When you use the app, the people you’re “chatting” with are anonymous. There are pictures showing bodies, clothes, backgrounds, and whatever…but their faces are covered up with a “16-piece digital jigsaw puzzle.”So, the only way to find out what face is lurking behind that puzzle with the goofy intro joke and interesting taste in movies is to interact to them and keep interacting.
Of course, there’s still a chance for superficiality. It’s possible one person could chat the other up for a month or two, only to find out they aren’t digging the grill once it’s fully exposed…and then comes a visit to ghost town. With that said, it’s still a step in the right direction for those who want to move past the over-played swipe machine that puts shallow over substance.
