Strange Valentine’s Day Requests Hotels Have Gotten

Valentine’s Day is just days away, so it’s really time to nail down your plans. For some people, a box of chocolates is all they need, but others go all out for the holiday, with a survey revealing the average person dropped $144 on the holiday last year. So what are they buying? Possibly a romantic night at a hotel? Lots of lovebirds opt to get a room for the night and according to hotel managers and concierges, they get some interesting and weird requests from guests in preparation for Valentine’s Day, including these.

  • A rep from Spa Seekers says they’ve “received an influx of weird and wonderful food requests,” from oysters to asparagus. These are some of the other interesting and unique requests from Valentine’s Day guests:
  • “We recently had one guest inquire online regarding room service delivered by Butlers in the Buff.” And Butlers in the Buff = shirtless party men in bowties.
  • “One of the most common requests we receive are soundproof rooms.” Seems pretty practical and considerate.
  • “We’ve had high volumes of requests for adult entertainment in spa hotel rooms.” And by “adult entertainment” they mean porn… and probably Netflix, too.
  • “Clientele have asked us for their sexy playlists to be played while they’re getting massages and in their rooms.”
  • “We’ve been asked to leave some weird and wonderful things in spa-goers bedrooms… buckets of ice, whipped cream, melted chocolate, and even hot wax.”
  • “We’ve had requests from couples for filling the room with My Little Ponies, body painting, and more,” says a concierge from the W New York - Times Square. Also requested there …
  • “We had a request to organize a psychic to see if the couple would be together forever.” For their sake, we hope it was good news.
  • “We’ve also been asked about violinists, rose petals, and full-on animal costume rentals.”Just let that last one sink in for a minute.
