Another day, another bride who’s putting the look of her wedding over her relationship with a bridesmaid. A bride-to-be recently shared on Reddit’s “Am I The A-Hole” forum that she’s upset because her redheaded bridesmaid refuses to dye her hair or wear a wig.
The bride asked the bridesmaid, her cousin 'Ella,' to do so because she fears the red hair will “clash” with her wedding’s color scheme and “destroy the wedding photos.” The bride writes that most of the guests have agreed to abide by her “blue and green peacock theme” wedding in June, except for Ella, who won’t change her hair color.
The bride insists she didn’t ask her to permanently dye her hair, but Ella won't even attempt the temporary color because she doesn’t want to risk the hair color she’s been working to get for six years. The bride then suggested a wig, but Ella said she’s feeling “self-conscious” about it.
- THE POST: “I really don't want to come across as a bridezilla but butt length flaming red hair will destroy the wedding photos, and ruin the color scheme completely,” she shares. “I’m at a loss, I can't cut her from the wedding because my mom would murder me but I can't have f----ing Merida ruining the photos,” a reference to the character in “Brave.”
And here's the reaction:
- Well, as you can imagine, the Internet called out the bride, whose post received over 5,400 comments, with many agreeing that hair dye could ruin Ella’s color.
- Other suggested the real reason the bride wants the hair change is out of jealousy, with one person noting, “She’s hotter than you, huh?,” while another agreed, “This is 100 percent the cousin being prettier than [the bride] and [the bride] wanting to change the cousin’s appearance to feed her own inferiority complex.”
- Many people, including a wedding photographer, pointed out that Ella’s hair will go beautifully with the color scheme, with one person sharing, “No one will give a crap about your wedding photos within a few months of the wedding besides you. Her hair won't ruin the photos, your attitude will.”
