Congratulations to everyone who gave up alcohol for the New Year because it looks like you’re saving a lot more than just your health.
According to a new survey, millennials participating in “Dry January” should expect to have a lot more cold hard cash while avoiding cold hard liquor. How does $300 extra a month sound? That’s apparently the average amount our generation is spending on booze every month.
By comparison, Gen-X’ers only spend half of that.Move over department stores, what millennials are really into “killing” are our wallets and livers.
In case you needed more of a reason to get off the sauce, the survey says the sober amongst our generation like being booze-free because it leads to a healthier diet and more consistent bedtimes. And that $300 extra a month probably buys them some pretty dope virgin mocktails.
