Millennials will go out with their big group of friends, but that doesn’t mean we want that to be the case every single day.We really cherish our alone time.
When it comes to really feeling like a loner all of the time, a recent YouGov survey says:
- 30% of millennials feel this
- 20% of GenX
- 15% of Baby Boomers
So now we’ve got to question: is this because you don’t have any friends to hang out with? Millennials say we have no:
- Friends (22%)
- Close friends (27%)
- Acquaintances (25%)
This could very well be a contributor, but no one-knows the exact reason for the loneliness. Let’s think about it though, we’ve got super crazy schedules to keep up with: going to at least 10-classes a week, doing the work to keep our grades up, working several jobs, and commuting. That’s not even counting the errands we have to run.By the time we have a sec to catch our breath, we just want to chill and relax at home.So maybe that’s what make us want to be alone.
