We all have our own sense of style, but fashion icons on TV definitely have an impact on our taste. Even if you never dressed like her, watching Carrie Bradshaw on “Sex and the City” affected us. But who are we watching on TV these days that we all want to dress like? Thankfully, we have new data from Pinterest and Lyst to tell us fashion’s most influential on-screen characters.
11) Eleven, “Stranger Things”-Millie Bobby Brown’s character keeps it age-appropriate and real, but we love her eighties looks and Lyst reports searches for rompers were up 57% in the days after the new season came out.
10) Ava Jalali, “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists”- When this teen drama premiered, searches for Ava Jalali’s preppy style skyrocketed an impressive 9,160%.
9) Zoey Johnson, “Grown-ish”- She wants to work at “Vogue,” so you know she dresses right and people are very interested in Zoey’s wardrobe, especially those Topshop spotty overalls.
8) Eric Effiong, “Sex Education”- After this show’s Netflix debut, searches for his tiger-print shirt shot up 40% on Lyst and 44% on Pinterest.
7) Fleabag, “Fleabag”- She’s always well-dressed while making terrible decisions and hilarious asides and after the first episode of the second season, searches for the black plunging-neck jumpsuit she wore increased by 460%.
6) Veronica Lodge, “Riverdale”- Almost everything this teen character wears sells out instantly, like that Topshop checked coat that sold out days after the episode featuring it aired.
5) Tan France, “Queer Eye”- We trust this guy’s taste and it’s no coincidence searches for men’s “striped shirt” increased 39% following the show’s fourth season.
4) Jane Villanueva, “Jane the Virgin”- People love her cute and very wearable fashion sense and Lyst reports that the Zimmermann Heathers mini dress was viewed 7,000 times in the week after the episode it appeared in. Unfortunately, the $700 price tag kept a lot of folks from buying it.
3) Renata Klein, “Big Little Lies”-Laura Dern’s character is power dressing personified.
After she wore that ruby red Roland Mouret gown, searches for it shot up by 87% on Lyst.
2) Sabrina Spellman, “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”- The teenage witch of 2019 is very chic and she mainly wears black, navy and deep red. Searches for Sabrina’s style are up 7,450%, with plaid skirts and ribbed sweaters topping the list.
1) Villanelle, “Killing Eve”- This TV assassin takes the top spot for fashionable characters we want to dress like and people love what she wears so much, there were more than 3,000 searches for “Killing Eve pajamas” after she wore them on-screen.
