Before getting that acceptance letter from the college of your choice, there’s some things that you won’t know until you actually step foot on the campus.
And as much as you learned about bank accounts in Mr. Robinson’s Economics/Real Life class, you didn’t learn these things:
- Assigned seats are a state of mind- You went from assigned seats in HS to wishing you had assigned seats in college. It’s instilled in you to sit in the same seat for every class.
- Parking will be your number one-enemy- There’s never enough spots for everyone, so you’re always going to be late trying to find one.
- The most wonderful time of year is also the most stressful- Welcome to finals week! The week before all the gift giving and the hardest tests to determine if you’ll graduate or not.
- Post-skip depression is real- Skipping Biology seems cool in the moment, but you’ll regret it when you can’t pass that next test.
- Things that aren’t forks make great forks- No forks? Get creative with a plastic knife. We’re putting your balance to the test.
- You gotta take that nap- If you don’t, you’re definitely going to oversleep and miss Math 101 later.
- Your HS numbers don't matter anymore- So what you got an A in HS Economics. That grade doesn’t apply to your Macro- and Micro-economics courses.
- When in doubt, drop- No need to get a failing grade on your transcript. Instead, erase it and still pay for that expensive course anyway.
- And passing is all that really matters- As long as you get that passing grade, you’re moving forward.
You can’t learn everything before college. Don’t worry though, you’ll learn!
