Woman Furious Over Small Engagement Ring

If an engagement ring is supposed to show a woman how much you love them, this man certainly has a lot of explaining to do.

A woman took to Reddit to complain about the engagement ring she got from her fiancé, and before you go calling her ungrateful, you really need to check it out. The ring in question is basically a band with what looks like one piece of glitter for a diamond.

The woman explains that she and her beau have been together for eight years and talking about marriage for three, and next to a picture of the ring, writes, "This is the ring he said he saved up to buy me," adding, "Am I being shady or materialistic if I tell this mf ion want this little a-- ring?"

  • And basically most people on the Internet agreed she has a right to be upset because the ring is bad. "I’m not materialistic when it comes to things like this but if my man proposed with THAT I would be full on insulted," one person commented, “He went out of his way to find the cheapest possible option; which to me says that he’s probably like that in every aspect of the relationship and will probably be like that in every aspect of their marriage. You can count on it.”
  • Others questioned the man’s savings skills if this was all he could afford to buy. “I'd be more concerned about his 'saving up' to buy something that little,” wrote one commenter. “Simply because it shows that a wedding is probably not in the budget." Another added, “it seems like this is a red flag regarding his ability to manage finances and save money, which is a major concern if you’re going to spend a lifetime with someone," wrote one person.
  • As for what she should do, some suggested “gently” telling her fiancé the ring wasn’t her style so she could go and pick out one she likes, but one person sees a bigger problem in their relationship. The commenter noted, “When the ring is the issue, the ring is not the issue."
