Lets Get You Some More Matches On Tinder!

Dating apps can be exhausting, but as we recently told you, it’s the most popular way couples meet today. So with everyone out there on the apps looking for love, you probably want to perfect your Tinder profile to get more right swipes. Not sure where to start? Here are some helpful hints directly from Tinder.

  • Make the first move- Sending a snarky – but cute – message to someone who catches your eye isn’t as risky as walking up to someone in a bar, but making the first move could help shy types swipe right. And worst case? They don’t respond.
  • Lead with a bright color-Tinder's own stats show 72% of users wear neutral colors like black or white in their first photo, so put on some color or find that photo of you against a vivid background to make yourself stand out from everyone else.
  • Look right into the camera- People who “face forward” in photos are 20% more likely to be swiped right on, according to Tinder, but you don’t have to stare down the camera, just show your face so people can see what you look like.
  • Don't cover yourself up- Tinder says wearing a hat or sunglasses can lower your swipe rate by 12% and 15 % respectively, so again, people just really want to see what you look like.
  • Skip the sultry gaze and smile instead- You may feel like a sexy pout is a better look for your dating app pictures, but Tinder reports that smiling boosts your chances of a match by 14%.
  • Show off more than just your best selfies- People want to see more than just four different selfies, so try posting one selfie, a full-body shot, and a few pics of you doing things you love.
  • Actually spend time on your bio and your messages- Take the time to make your bio your own, plus clean up any typos and vague, overused lines like “looking for my partner in crime to go on adventures with.” And with messages, spend a couple minutes on their profile so you can find a tailored question to ask so they don’t feel like you’re using the same line on everyone.
