Ariana Grande Admits Relationship With Pete Davidson Was Impetuous
Ariana Grande is on the cover of August’s “Vogue” (with her dog), and inside she opens up about the death of her ex-Mac Miller, as well as what went wrong with her relationship with former fiancé Pete Davidson.
Ari described her grief over Mac’s death as “all-consuming,” sharing, “By no means was what we had perfect, but, like, fu**k. He was the best person ever, and he didn’t deserve the demons he had.”
As for why they split, she notes, “I was the glue for such a long time, and I found myself becoming . . . less and less sticky. The pieces just started to float away.”
When it comes to Pete, she describes their romance an “amazing distraction. “It was frivolous and fun and insane and highly unrealistic, and I loved him, and I didn’t know him,” she explained. “I’m like an infant when it comes to real life and this old soul, been-around-the-block-a-million-times artist. I still don’t trust myself with the life stuff.”
Other revelations from the article…
- When talking about the Manchester bombing, Ari got emotional sharing, “It’s not my trauma. It’s those families. It’s their losses, and so it’s hard to just let it all out without thinking about them reading this and reopening the memory for them.”
- Her album “Thank U, Next” helped her realize it’s okay for her to be alone. “I’ve been boo’d up my entire adult life. I’ve always had someone to say goodnight to,” she offers. “So Thank U, Next’ was this moment of self-realization. It was this scary moment of ‘Wow, you have to face all this stuff now. No more distractions. You have to heal all this s–t.’”
- She used alcohol to deal with her grief over Mac. “But if I’m completely honest, I don’t remember those months of my life because I was (a) so drunk and (b) so sad,” she said.

Mariah Carey Calls Herself Prude!
Mariah Carey opens up about her love life in the latest edition of “Cosmopolitan” magazine, and folks may be shocked to find out it’s rather tame.
“I’ve only been with five people in my life, so I’m kind of a prude, honestly, compared to most others in the field," Mariah, who is currently dating dancer Bryan Tanaka, shares, adding, “I haven’t had that many, but there has been a variety pack.”
Mariah’s first marriage in 1998 was to music executive Tommy Mottola, who was 20 years her senior, and she doesn’t have many nice things to say about the marriage.
“You might want to picture a child bride,” she said. “There was a conscious effort to keep me as this all-American, whatever that means, girl. It was very controlled. There was no freedom for me as a human being. It was almost like being a prisoner.”
