Another day, another demanding bridezilla. In the latest story of a crazy bride, a woman reveals that her cousin actually called her “fat” and “selfish” because she refused to pay to be a bridesmaid in her wedding after a member of the wedding party dropped out.
Here’s what happened:
- A woman shared on Reddit that even though she barely speaks to the bride, who happens to be her cousin, called to ask a “huge favor,” requesting that she step in for a bridesmaid that bailed at the last minute.
- The bride said the bridesmaid would sell the cousin the bridesmaid dress for “cheap,” but the cousin declined saying she “wasn’t comfortable” being in a wedding party.
- The bride went off, accusing the cousin of “making this about you,” and calling her “selfish” and “self-centered,” and noting, “It doesn’t matter if it makes you ‘uncomfortable.’ You just supposed to do things for your family.”
- The cousin still declined, and then the bride had the nerve to demand the cousin transfer her the money for the dress.
- When the cousin still refused, the bride shot back, “You’re too fat to be a bridesmaid anyways I can’t believe I wasted my time asking you. F*** off fatty.”
The cousin basically then told the bride the bridesmaid who dropped out “had the right idea," and wished her a great wedding, adding, "I hope no one else backs out before then.” As you can imagine, most people on the Internet were shocked by the bride’s behavior. “I love the ‘you are supposed to do things for family’ like it is all sentimental and then it turns into, 'give me money or else!,” one person noted. “She really won the cousin pool there.”
