Meghan Markle is still on maternity leave after welcoming her first child with Prince Harry, littleArchie Harrison, but she’s still putting in work for her Royal patronages. In her forward for the Annual Review of Mayhew,an animal welfare charity, Meghan talks about the importance of animal adoption.
Meghan is a rescue dog owner herself – she brought her beloved pup Guy along with her to London from Canada, and she and Harry also have a labrador puppy. Meghan says that bringing a rescue pooch can “change your life.” so she’s urging people to “get involved in whatever way” they can, whether that’s by volunteering, donating, spreading the word, or, of course, adopting.
“The role that we, as people, play in rehoming and rescuing these animals is vital, but the role of organizations such as Mayhew is unparalleled,” she writes. “Mayhew actively seeks solutions that allow people to stay with their animals and have the support they need to do so.”
