American's Get A Rush From Purchases!

While some people go shopping purely out of necessity, there are plenty of people who simply find joy in making purchases, and a some actually get a "rush" from it. 

According to a new poll, 66% of Americans say they get a “rush” from making a purchase, although that feeling only lasts about 28 minutes. And some people love that feeling so much they’ll spend $150.84 a month to get that feeling, something they experience about 12 times during that period of time. And it isn’t even just the purchasing that gives people a high. It seems 70% of folks say hunting for a good deal is “thrilling.”

So, what purchases are most likely to give you that boost? Well, clothing apparently, with 50% of people admitting they get a rush from buying clothes, with shoes a close second (46%).Other purchases that give people a rush include:

  • Computer/laptop (40%)
  • Electronic Accessories (e.g. headphones) (35%)
  • TV (34%)
  • Accessories/jewelry (32%)
  • Groceries (30%)
  • Vacations (28%)
  • Video games (28%)
  • Kitchen supplies (26%)
  • Home Decor (26%)
