"Work Family" Is The New Norm?

As we previously told you,a recent poll found that most Americans admit to having a work spouse, but apparently for a lot of people it’s more than that. A new poll by Choice Hotels finds that 90% of workers admit they have a “work family,” with close to 65% of people saying their work relationships are as important as their relationships at home.

Of course, considering we spend so much time at work it’s understandable that it’s important to like the people we work with. The poll finds that 59% of people admit they spend the same amount of time, if not more, with their work families as they do their real families. Finding the right people to work with is so important that 60% of folks say they’d forgo a raise in order to work with people they like.

And for a lot of people, that work relationship lasts well beyond them working together. The poll notes that 86% of people say they stay in touch with their former colleagues.
