The searches for Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie have resulted in closure of at least nine missing person cases.
Gabby Petito first made national headlines in early September after she went missing. Her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, returned home to Florida alone after a cross country trip. Laundrie later went missing causing a massive manhunt in Florida.
During these searches multiple bodies were found near where Petito went missing and other locations where there were reports of Brian Laundrie sightings.
22-year-old Emily Ferlazzo's body was found most recently with shocking similarities to Petito's case. Her husband confessed but pleads not guilty of shooting her and dismembering her body while traveling in a converted bus for their anniversary.
In Yucca Valley, human remains were found near where a 30-year-old Lauren Cho of New Jersey went missing on June 28.
In El Paso County, Colorado, the remains of 55-year-old Sara Bayard was found on the side of a highway in an area where Petito and Laundrie stopped on their trip for photos.
During a search for Laundrie in North Carolina, investigators found that 33-year-old Josue Calderon was stabbed to death on the Appalachian trail.
19-year-old Miya Marcano was found dead on October 2 in Orlando, Florida.
In Grand Tetons National Park, near where Petito was found, Robert Lowery died of suicide.
Back in August, 24-year-old Kylen Schulte and 38-year-old Crystal Turner were both shot and killed in Moab Utah. This case was investigated potentially linked to the disappearance of Petito.
