Pollen Could Cause Higher COVID-19 Infections, Study Says

According to a new study from Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences has suggested that higher pollen count is being linked to higher COVID-19 infection rates.

The study looked at 31 countries around the world to see how the rise and fall of pollen levels contributed to the infection rates. During research in Spring of 2020, scientists found that about airborne pollen levels, along with a combination of humidity and temperature, were credited for up to 44% of the variability in COVID-19 case rates.

The higher pollen level suppresses your immune system response and allows for a more rapid COVID-19 infection.
