The Coast Guard crew was on a 68 day patrol when they spotted the debris in the water. They launched smaller boats to investigate. They found 1800lbs of cocaine packages tied together with 75 feet of line.
Entangled in the cocaine was a poor sea turtle.
The coast guard cut the turtle loose and seized the cocaine worth approximately $50 million.
