Katy Perry was sharing the love at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards while walking the red carpet prior to her gravity-defying performance and Video Vanguard Award win.
The "Woman's World" singer looked stunning on the red carpet in a tattered white two-piece ensemble by Who Decides War that put her toned torso on display in a cropped, one-shoulder top and low-waisted skirt paired with a metal arm piece and her hair styled in a grungy wet look, per Page Six.
As Perry walked by photographers, iHeartRadio asked her "How does it feel to be the hottest person on the carpet?" Without missing a beat, the "Lifetimes" singer immediately responded, "You would know," causing everyone nearby to scream with joy.

Fans couldn't get enough of how "quick" Perry was with the compliment, flooding the comments on TikTok with messages like "the quickest girls girl response," "the way I would've dropped dead," "she was so sweet for that" and, simply, "I would never recover."

The night was a big win for the pop icon. Not only did she literally soar through the air in a career-spanning performance, but she was honored with the prestigious Video Vanguard Award, a lifetime achievement award presented to her by fiancé Orlando Bloom. During her acceptance speech, she praised "amazing young artists" in the industry today for their "confidence" and "authenticity."
"One of the biggest reasons I'm standing here right now is I learned how to block out all the noise that every single artist in this industry has to constantly fight against, especially women," she said. "I just want to say with my whole heart, do whatever it takes to stay true to yourself and true to your art. Turn off social media, safeguard your mental health, pause, touch grass and do what you were born to do, just like I was born to do this."
