Months after abruptly closing more than 50 locations around the U.S., popular seafood restaurant chain Red Lobster is closing nearly two dozen additional restaurants around the country, including another right here in Georgia.

Red Lobster recently announced it will close an additional 23 of its restaurants across 15 states at the end of the month amid bankruptcy proceedings. Among the list is one location in Georgia, an additional restaurant among those in the Peach State that were suddenly closed without warning earlier this year.

According to Fast Company, the new Georgia Red Lobster location set to close by August 31 is located at 6550 Tara Boulevard in Jonesboro. Check out our earlier coverage to learn more about the previously-announced restaurant closures in the state.

In May, it was reported that Red Lobster has struggled financially in part to its popular Ultimate Endless Shrimp deal, an all-you-can-eat shrimp promotion that was once a limited-time special that the company made available all the time for $20, a move that reportedly led to a loss of $12.5 million.

Dozens of locations were suddenly shuttered in an effort to fight off bankruptcy and much of its kitchen equipment, tables and chairs were actioned off by liquidation company TAGeX Brands as part of "the largest restaurant equipment auction ever."
