Months after first announcing her shocking medical diagnosis, Kate Middleton has reportedly "turned a corner" amid her cancer treatment.
A source claiming to be a family friend told Vanity Fair on Tuesday (May 28) that the Princess of Wales has been responding well to her treatment and is doing "better."
"It has been a great relief that she is tolerating the medication and is actually doing a lot better," the friend said, adding that this has been "a very challenging and worrying time" for her but that her immediate family and husband, Prince William, have "rallied around her" as she underwent chemotherapy, per Page Six.
Kensington Palace also confirmed Thursday (May 30) that Middleton will not be in attendance for the Colonel's Review and the Trooping the Colour Ceremony next month as she "continues her recovery," NBC News reports, following a rep telling BBC on May 21 that "the princess is not expected to return to work until it's cleared by her medical team."
The Princess of Wales has not had an official public outing since Christmas 2023 and has continued to remain out of the public eye as she undergoes preventative chemotherapy, which sparked unfounded conspiracy theories that were ultimately halted when she announced in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was in the "early stages" of treatment. The discovery was made following a "planned abdominal surgery" that would keep her in the hospital for up to two weeks.
In her announcement video, Middleton didn't specify what cancer she was diagnosed with, instead thanking those who had sent "wonderful messages of support" as she and Prince William "have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family."
