Dave Chappelle Buys Property to Block Hometown Developer
Say what you want about Dave Chappelle, but he’s a man of his word. He recently bought several acres of land in his hometown of Yellow Springs, Ohio to keep a developer from moving into town.
According to Dave’s rep, he bought at least 19 acres of land that was previously owned by Oberer Land Developers, Ltd, which was planning to build a huge subdivision that would chew up 52 acres of the village. He’s completely opposed to it and said so at a town hall meeting back in February. He threatened to pull his own business venture for the area – a planned restaurant/comedy club called the Firehouse Eatery.
While the Yellow Springs city council approved the development, Dave’s land grab has blocked – or at least curtailed – Oberer’s plans. We’ll keep you posted…

Lil Nas X Goes After BET Awards Again
While most of us will be celebrating the culture with the BET Awards this weekend, Lil Nas X won't be. As we told you, he dropped a diss track earlier this month because BET didn’t nominate him for any awards.
Now on the eve of BET Awards weekend, Montero went after the show again. He posted the cover image of his next single, “Late to Da Party,” which shows someone – presumably him – urinating on a BET Award in a toilet — a clear reference to Kanye West’s 2020 social media video of himself urinating on a Grammy.
You can get the skinny on the BET Awards – which happen on Sunday – HERE.

More Strange Behavior From Ezra Miller
Ezra Miller is in the news every week, but it never seems to be for a good reason. "Rolling Stone" is reporting that Miller has a mother and her three young children living with them where guns and drugs are everywhere.
The 25-year-old mother and her children, ages one to five, met Miller earlier this year in Hawaii, where they were arrested at least twice. The star allegedly booked a flight out of Hilo for the woman and her kids without the father’s knowledge; he says he hasn’t been able to see or speak with his children since they left in April.
According to reports, the one-year-old child allegedly found a loose bullet and put it in her mouth, with "Rolling Stone" saying video that they reviewed shows "multiple assault rifles, weapons, and handguns laying around the living room” of the house, where Miller is apparently running a cannabis company and growing marijuana on the property.
